Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 15, 2025

TL;DR: ProxyGuard runs 100% locally. We don't collect your data, scan results, or detection patterns. The only data we process is license validation.

Our Privacy Philosophy

We built ProxyGuard with a local-first architecture because we believe your security data should stay on your machine. Period. We don't want your data, and we've designed our software so we can't get it even if we wanted to.

What We Don't Collect

  • Your API requests or responses
  • Detected secrets or sensitive data
  • Your custom detection patterns
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • System information beyond what's needed for license validation

What We Do Collect

For license validation only, we process:

  • License key: To verify your purchase
  • Device identifier: A hash to enforce device limits (we don't see your actual hardware info)
  • Timestamp: When the license was activated

Website Data

When you visit our website, we may use basic analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not use cookies for tracking. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.

Data Security

License data is stored securely and encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to protect the minimal data we do store.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate our business. Here is exactly what they do and what data they can access:

  • Stripe processes payments on our behalf. We never see or store your credit card numbers. Stripe handles all payment data directly.
  • Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated page view data to help us understand traffic patterns. It does not use cookies and cannot identify individual visitors.
  • No other third-party services have access to any user data.
  • ProxyGuard itself makes zero network requests during normal operation. All scanning and detection happens entirely on your local machine.

Children's Privacy

ProxyGuard is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at me@alejandroman.dev so we can promptly remove the information from our records.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your license data at any time by contacting us. Since we don't collect usage data, there's nothing else to delete.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we'll notify users via email and update this page. Our commitment to local-first architecture will not change.
